The Annual
TEAM Scholarship Fund The Scholarship fund was started in 2002. The TEAM being a non profit corporation wanted to give something to the students of Tenino. The TEAM with the help of Tenino High School staff hand select the recipients. The students are chosen for their ability to overcome adversity more than their GPA. The TEAM champions students that have overcome personal, financial, or health concerns. The young men and women have a vision for their future but may lack the means to get there. The Tenino Motorcycle Drill Team takes pride in helping them fulfill their goals and dreams. The goal of the TEAM is to one day, create a sustaining scholarship fund. So that even after we are gone there will still be some financial help for those that could really use it. Thank you for helping make our dreams come true. This was in a Thank You card from Amber Young, one of the recipients of the TEAM Scholarship in 04' Type Written: Dear Tenino Motorcycle Drill Team; Every year I watch you team at our annual Oregon Trail Days Parade and I can't believe you have chosen me to be your recipient of $1000, which goes towards my college funding. I remember sitting at graduation and listening to all the names being called out for scholarships and all I could think about was how I couldn't afford a college I was already accepted too. While names were continually read off I had almost convinced myself to take a year off to earn enough money to continue on with my education. Then my name was called. It was like my unspoken prayer was answered and by a few familiar faces. I don't know how to Thank You enough. Just know that one day a by-stander will take your picture during a parade. That picture and the skill behind it was made possible because of your thoughtfulness. In the Card Hand Written: Thank You for naming me the recipient of the Tenino Motorcycle Drill Team Scholarship. I really appreciate the recognition and the $1000 will really help with my college expenses. I plan to attend the Art Institute of Seattle and earn a degree in photography.
